You won’t see loads like these on your local roads, well not unless you live in Africa. Without wishing to state the totally obvious, the rules and regulations with regard to overloading would appear to be slightly different to those we are used to abiding by where we live. But there again we do have several advantages which enables us to avoid such potentially calamitous situations. We have more cars per head of the population, we have access to more petrol, and we aren’t naturally quite so resourceful!
In the first image you can imagine an innocent lorry driver minding his own business when he stops at the side of the road to pick up a hitchhike, only to be asked if he has room for anyone else. “Sure, tell them to hop on board” was the reply! Little did he imagine what was about to happen. I wonder if there anyone from the Guinness Book of World Records nearby as I can’t ever remember seeing so many people and so much luggage piled into, or is that onto, one single vehicle….
As for ingenuity, well as donkeys were around well before the motor car, perhaps it shouldn’t be such a surprise to see a car being pulled along on a donkey and cart. However, as cows were around long before motor bikes, it was a bit of s surprise to see a cow on a motorbike. That has to be incredibly dangerous and foolhardy as the cow isn’t wearing a crash helmet!
So next time you go to the supermarket and are wandering down the fruit and vegetable aisle, stop and have a think about how your bananas made their way from the banana tree? So have you seen anything like these where you come from? If you have, why not share them with us on our Facebook page?
